Dr. Koehler started at Jensen's in 1973 and began doing mostly large animal and equine work. Over the years he transitioned to small animal surgery and orthopedics. He is now primarily a small animal practitioner and skilled in anterior cruciate ligament repairs, fracture repairs and other orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association and the Veterinary Orthopedic Society. Dr. Koehler stays busy with triathlon training, ice climbing and many other sports.

Dr. Michelin has been with Jensen's since 1985. She is our only primarily equine veterinarian and has interests in lameness and reproduction. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Michigan Veterinary Medical Association and American Association of Equine Practitioners. Dr. Michelin excels at herding with her dogs and endurance riding.

Dr. Warnemuende (but you can call him Dr. Ryan!) joined us in 2007 from Michigan State University. He has special interests in small animal surgery, orthopedics, internal medicine, and ophthalmology. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Warnemuende grew up in Frankenmuth and is an avid hunter and angler and enjoys camping and watching sports such as MSU athletics, the Detroit Tigers, and Lions. He and his wife Janelle and their sons Jack, Leo, and Wells live in Petoskey.

Dr. Henning joined Jensen's in 2009 after graduating from Michigan State University. She has special interests in ultrasound, dentistry, ophthalmology, internal medicine, and feline medicine. She loves living in beautiful northern Michigan with her husband, Matt, sons Drew & Harrison, and sweet dog Clifford & cat, Maple. Dr. Henning is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association, and The American Association of Feline Practitioners.

Dr. Bair graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2015 and completed her clinical rotations at Michigan State University. She has special interest in geriatric pain control, ultrasound, and soft tissue surgery. She lives in Boyne City with her husband, daughter, 3 dogs and 2 cats. She is a member of the Michigan State Veterinary Medical Association and American Veterinary Medical Association. She enjoys spending time outside gardening, hiking, baking, soap making and hunting.

Dr. Carter graduated from Michigan State University in 2018. She has special interest in dermatology, soft tissue surgery, and equine medicine. Dr. Carter lives in Alanson with her dog Paul, kitty Sophia, and her 2 goldfish Lumpy and Gravy. She is a member of the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association and the American Association of Equine Practitioners. Dr. Carter enjoys spending time outdoors, knitting, reading and playing the piano.

Marcie joined us in 2005 and is now our office manager. She works very hard to make sure our hospital runs smoothly and our clients and patients receive the best possible care. She shares her home with her German Shepard, Mya; her devoted cat, Mr. Fatty; her cockatiel, Solei; her adorable son, Grant; and her husband, Jay. Marcie enjoys spending time with her family and participating in a variety of outdoor adventures.

Dianna started working for Jensen's part time in 2004 and we loved her so much she joined our team full time in 2011. She worked on an Alpaca farm for many years and is very knowledgeable in all farm & small animals. Dianna special interest include orthopedics and large animal medicine. She lives with her husband, Kurt; her dogs, Spy, J.D., Zedd, Pheria and Gracie; her cat Zoom; and several alpacas and dexter Cattle. Dianna enjoys being outside, camping, hiking, biking, racing sled dogs, gardening and working on her farm.

Kortney joined our team in 2019 after graduating with an Associate of Applied Science and Veterinary Technology. Growing up she was a part of the Emmet Charlevoix 4-H Market Livestock Program, showing pigs and cattle. Now she is a volunteer in the program helping and teaching the youth. She enjoys working with both large and small animals. Working hard to make sure our patients feel safe, comfortable and have good experiences during their visits. In her free time she enjoys photography, hiking, kayaking, skiing, camping, hunting, horseback riding, and agility with her German Shepherd.

Katie shadowed at Jensen's Anima Hospital from 2017-2020 and worked as a ranch hand at various horse farms across Michigan. In 2020, she graduated from Baker College Veterinary Technology Program with an associate degree in applied sciences. From 2020-2023 she worked as a licensed veterinary technician in Harbor Springs and Cedar Springs Michigan. In May of 2023 she officially joined the Jensen's Team. Katie has special interests in emergency, equine, and exotic medicine and anesthesiology. She has 2 cats and 1 horse and lives in Indian River with her husband Dawson. In her free times she enjoys horseback riding, camping, and kayaking

Beth joined the Jensen's Team in 2022 after graduating from Baker College with an associate degree of Applied Science and Veterinary Technology. One of her goals at Jensen's is to create a positive and fear-free environment for your pet during their visit. She has a variety of animals at home which include 2 Dogs Sadie and Clyde, a horse Cowboy and a Rabit named Bagel. In her free time, you can find her out hiking with her dogs or riding horseback or kayaking at the lake.

Skylar joined our fantastic client care team in May of 2024 and is eager to learn all about the ins and outs of Veterinary medicine. He is a lover of all social creatures but is particularly fond of his golden retriever Peach. Skylar and his partner recently moved from Chicago and are enjoying the beautiful and relaxing setting of Petoskey. In his free time, you will find Skylar writing poems, cooking, listening to music, hiking or traveling . Fun fact Skylar has been to 45 states; Peach has been to 30!

Kirstin joined us in 2012 and is a Licensed Veterinary Technician. She obtained her LVT from Macomb Community College in 1992 and has over 30years of experience in Veterinary Medicine. She worked for many years in human medicine, but followed her heart back to veterinary medicine, and we are very grateful. Kirstin is an active member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners.
She enjoys working with people and LOVES cats! She shares her home with her 5 rescue animals. 4 cats, Dreyfuss, Jake Ryan, Scarlett and Astrid and her dog, Sookie Sue. When Kirstin is not at Jensen's you will find her out gardening, reading a good book, or outdoors enjoying our northern Michigan summers.

Liz rejoined our team in 2013 and is a fantastic veterinary technician assistant. Her special interests in Veterinary medicine include cytology, diagnostics and putting the puzzle together.
Liz is an extremely talented musician who also enjoys snowboarding, running, biking and gardening. Her favorite pastime is hitting the trails with her dog Holmes and friends, running, mountain biking or back county touring. She lives with her dog, Mia; and two cats, Beckham and Sophie.

Tara joined our fantastic client care team in the fall of 2016 and works hard maintaining a professional and friendly experience for our clients and patients. Tara shares her home with her rambunctious dog, Cannoli. She enjoys our beautiful summers here in Northern Michigan.

Luke joined our outstanding client care team in March of 2017 and works hard making every experience at Jensen's Animal Hospital happy and enjoyable. He and his wife, Julie, share their lovely home in Petoskey with their 3 beautiful girls, Norah, Clare and Elsie, that keep them busy with soccer, basketball and skiing. Luke enjoys baseball, camping, hunting, various outdoor activities and time with his family.

Sara joined our team in March 2017 and is a wonderful Veterinary Assistant that enjoys making sure all of our patient are safe and comfortable. She recently moved back to her hometown of Petoskey after spending 8 years working in Jackson, WY, and is thrilled to be back working in Northern Michigan. Sara's newest outdoor hobby is fishing on our great rivers and lakes with her boyfriend, Dave.

Karya Joined us in the spring of 2020 after moving back home to Cheboygan. She has been in the veterinary field for over ten years. She lives with her husband Nate and shares her home with her furry babies Roz and her 2 crazy kitties Unity and Tiabeanie. She also has chickens that she calls her “gentle giants”. In her spare time, she enjoys doc diving and herding with Roz, kayaking, fishing/hunting, and growing her vegetable garden.

Nichole joined our team in 2017 as our Exam Room Technician. She works very hard at making every animal feel relaxed and comfortable during their examinations. Nichole currently is pursuing her certification as a medical assistant and hopes to fulfill her goal of becoming a Licensed Veterinary Technician. Her special interests in Veterinary Medicine include laboratory and behavior.
She shares her home with her husband, 3 beautiful daughters, 5 busy dogs and 5 energetic feline companions. Nichole enjoys the outdoors, kayaking, trail walks, camping and going to the park with her family.

Ashley is one of our Licensed Veterinary Technicians, she has been with us since 2019. She was born and raised downstate where she graduated from Macomb Community College Veterinary Technician Program with an Associates in Applied Sciences. She met and fell in love with her husband while vacationing here in northern michigan. They now live here and have three beautiful daughters, three dogs and one cat. Ashley is very compassionate about what she does, and it shows. Her special interests within veterinary medicine include Dentistry, Emergency Medicine, Geriatric diseases and patients, rehabilitation, ultrasound, Internal Medicine and Fear Free.

Taylor joined the Jensen's Team in the fall of 2018 after returning from living abroad. She has a Bachelors in Zoology and had wanted to work with animals ever since her first word was "dog". She enjoys sunny afternoon naps with her cat Saja, reading, paddleboarding, photography and travel.

Emily joined our team in 2019 as a Large Animal Technician. Although she loves everything equine related, she especially enjoys equine lameness and Pre-purchase exams. When not out on farm calls with Dr. Michelin, Emily enjoys spending her free time hiking and exploring local trails with her dog Bromm, attending horsemanship clinics and limiting distance rides with her horses as well as reading and filmography.

Serina joined our amazing team in October of 2023 and works hard making sure that every pet receives the best care possible. She along with her dog Daisy and cat Sunday live in beautiful Boyne City. When not at Jensen's Serina could be found hiking in the woods, biking or camping with friends and family.

Abby joined our amazing team in November of 2023 and works hard to making every experience at Jensen's enjoyable for both clients and patients. She loves all animals great and small. When she is not at Jensen's Abby enjoys cooking, art and traveling, road trips and of course hanging out with her dog Howie.

Heather joined our team in 2022. She was born and raised in Petoskey and enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys reading, camping, hiking, traveling, and spending time snuggling her dog Winter.
